Me too but AWD makes more sense in an EV for balanced regenerative braking, so I have changed my preference.
I had zero interest in AWD with IC engined cars though.
The Taycan, and probably most EVs, require a 2 stage reduction gearbox between motor and axle.
In the case of the Taycan there is additionally a 2-ratio gearbox at the rear.
Not sure how much additional noise comes from this but gear noise will be inevitable with 4+ meshes.

Whilst then Taycan ticks almost all the boxes for me, just width and weight more than ideal, the one area I am sticking to an IC engined car is my sports car where the idea of a screaming engine, 3 pedals and 6 on the floor have some appeal.
IMHO.
I am sure a 718 EV will be a stupendous car but...
