718 Cayman EV also nearly fully uncovered + video

I’ve taken/will continue to take my Taycan to the track. A 718 EV will be even more fun. I don’t know how much more reliable my car could have been (I’m on a so far problem-free J1.2), but I’m ok with the design choices. I feel like a bias for performance (vs other factors) when given an engineering constraint is fitting for the brand.

That is correct and in my opinion a poor tradeoff. How many Porsche buyers are truly driving their vehicles on the track?

While a valid point; that's not porsche's stance on things like this. All you need to do is look at the Taycan GT Weissach - a 4 door car, with no rear seats, with a massive spoiler that halves the range on any autobahn - by all apsects, a shit tradeoff in the name of track performance.

I will also add that those vents find use in south of europe outside of tracks also. Going to south italy or south of Spain at 45+ degrees Celsius will in fact push you car to it's max temperature limit even with those vents. Not everyone lives in a moderate climate in USA.

As for the size and shape of the vents, it's clearly to keep the design language from their newest 911s. By all accounts, they want to present this car as a electric 911 equivalent, likely to justify the price increase it will undoubtly have.

If anything, i would have prefered they completely get rid of the radiator plastic design in the middle of the front bumper. At least they got rid of 90% of it from the back bumper... even though it's still shit matte black plastic on a 100k+ car - no wonder the chinese are winning.
