The final version seem to have a more 911 like shape, compared to the gen2 a110 / the mule for the ev, where roof line was cutting of strangely.

Yeah, I've been following this for over a year and I _really_ liked the mule so I'm worried about the changes. Not that I should worry as this car's availability in USA is somewhat dubious under the current administration.

The $100k question: will it be a better car than the 718 EV?

interesting that they’re splitting the battery pack- Porsche won’t do that so Alpine may have a capacity/ range advantage as a result

Personally, I've been following it, it appears to be about 600 lbs / 273 kg lighter than the Porsche, as well as rumored to have two drivetrain layouts: dual rwd, or tri motor setup.

Porsche should have had a 2 year advantage on the A110 EV, and as we all know Northvolt and internal decision making within Porsche significantly slowed down. I am still of the camp they should have compromised a bit on the platform to make it ICE and EV compatible to make it profitable.

The Alpine's reduced weight, combined with a dual rwd setup with ~400 HP for proper torque vectoring sounds sublime.

The only question really is availability in the US, which would be at the earliest 2030 imo, leveraging their alliance with Nissan/Infinity for dealer network. I also presume this will come in at or cheaper than the Cayman EV, mostly due to the Porsche option tax.

I expect the Cayman EV will likely be a better daily with what I presume to be more range and a more comfortable daily suspension. Both will likely have RAS as well. However, the Alpine is rumored to have a cramped 2+2 coupe option not sure if said option will extend the wheel base.

Which leads me to speculate that there may be two form factors for the vehicle, an extended wheel base with 3 motors and larger battery and 2+2 layout, and a shorter wheel base with just the dual rwd motors 2 seat and smaller pack.
