Ferry Porsche is famously quoted as saying 'Fun doesn't come from comfort, almost the opposite.' Is it really that binary - either or? Or can we have both fun and comfort? Well with my bad back, I need the comfort. I have a ICE Boxster but I hardly ever drive it any more as it rides too harsh for me. I have a MacanEV with air-suspension and it is very comfortable. Can the new 718 be configured to be as nearly comfortable?

Fun is an option package you can indeed tick on porsche's configurator.

So is comfort.

Look at taycan; base taycan is not fun. Add all the driving focused options, it is fun.
Base taycan is not comfortable, add PAR, 19inch wheels, comfort seats, cooling, heated seats, etc, and you get a comfortable car.

You have money? Add all the options, and you'll get both.

You can have either of these for less money from other brands, but having them together done well is usually something only porsche offers.

You also need to judge your age and body size. I doubt Jeremy Clarkson can find any sports car to be comfortable anymore, no matter how it is configured or the price.

Why look at Porsches if you don't? 😂.

I test drove a 2027 Taycan w/ air-suspension, and asked the dealer to set it to the most comfortable setting. It wasn't as comfortable as my MacanEV. He doubted the new 718 will come with air-suspension, probably PASM. I wonder if PASM will be comfortable enough for me as a daily driver... 🤔
